Back to School Night

My kids are finally going to the school that I went to growing up. And as we were at back to school night trying to find the first grade classrooms we were directed to the hall that use to be the fifth and sixth grade hall. As we were checking out Shelby's classroom the teacher told us that there are seven first grade classes this year. Yes, I said seven first grade classes. Wow. Then we were directed to the fifth grade hall that use to be the second grade hall. Boy was I confused. Out in the lobby there is a plaque about the first year that elementary school was open. My kids knew that I attended there and I had to explain to them why my name was on the plaque. I said because I was one of the first students to attend the first year it opened. Wow am I old. A fifth grader and a first grader and they are going to the elementary school I went to. Wow.

School Clothes Shopping

Morgan ~ Went shopping today. Went to three different stores to try and find him levi's. He is a tall skinny kid so we have to have the length. In shorts he wears a size 7 and in levi's he wears a size 14 slim (with adjustable straps). Got shirts, shoes, socks, and short's. But no levi's in the size we need at three different stores. Ugh.

Shelby ~ Knew exactly where all the clothes she wanted at Wal-mart. Guess we go there too much. She was fun because she is such a girl and into it. Got two pairs of shoes with Hannah on them (she picked them out).

Lisa ~ I figured why should the kids just get new school clothes?! I work and need new clothes every once in a while, so I bought me some to. Why not? :-)

Shopping, Rodeo, or Hospital

Hospital(s). That is what we did this weekend. Visited two hospitals and had emergency hand surgery in less than 24 hours. Morgan had a farm accident on Saturday afternoon. He got his right hand stuck between the bale wagon and a post. Went to American Fork Hospital. However, their hand surgeon was on a family vacation so our choices were either UVRMC or PCMC. We drove to PCMC and finally had surgery from about 10:20 pm to 11:05 pm. Tendons and arteries are fine. Index finger was broken. Will have to have physical therapy, but he is doing fine. He is my brave/tough cowboy! We saw about 25 medical personnel between two hospitals and told the story about 25 times to. Ugh! Frustrating! Finally one of the hand surgeons was from Delta and knew all about farming. I have a picture of his wound, however, I don't want to post it because it may make you sick. Thanks to all of my family for their time, phone calls, and support. Will keep you posted about the hand as the healing progresses.
