Last Day of 2008

I thought I better write something on the last day of the year. Anyhow, hope that all is well with everyone and that you are enjoying the holidays. We sure are. It will be hard to get back to the schedule next week. Anyway, happy last day of 2008.

Festival of Trees

Last night I went to the Festival of Trees. What creations. And what an atmosphere. You could feel the love and support. As I was looking at the pictures of the people that the tree was dedicated to I wanted to know more about them. What is their story? What and where are they now? The above picture is a tree that was done in behalf of Ali Marshall (the little girl that got kicked by a horse here in Lehi). She is my neighbor, ward member, and my sister-in-law's neice. It was very touching to know of someone personally who will benefit from this event. An update on Ali: she is home and doing well but still recovering. The people that are affected by the Fesival of Trees are in my prayers and thougts.

Owen & Will

This weekend I had the opportunity to babysit my two nephews: Owen (2) and Will (8 months) while their parents were out of town. They were such good little boys and it was fun to bond with them. Owen kept asking where his grandma and grandpa were (they were out of town to). So, I kept a tradition going. We went to Hart's and got us a bug juice and a donut. The grandkids know that when they work on the farm on Saturdays they get a treat with grandpa. Some say that it is unhealthy for us to go to Hart's all the time, but it is a tradition that means a lot to the kids.

Grocery Smarts

Last night I attended a class that our ward Relief Society did about coupons and saving money at the grocery store. It was an eye opener. When you get your coupons in the paper on Sundays don't immediately cut them out and go buy the products. You wait until the product goes on sale then you use the product. And instead of going through all the grocery ads, you can do it online. Check it out: www.grocerysmarts.com You will need the following passport: g84rcm Once you have entered in the passport and it has taken you to the next page - book mark it in your favorites. Good luck and happy shopping!
